Who we are
Digital 4orty is a small business website design studio. When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means Digital 4orty. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please contact us.
Information we collect
When you send an enquiry. Our contact form asks for your name, business name, email address and, optionally, your phone number and existing website address, plus information about your business and what you'd like your website to achieve. We use this to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and, if you go ahead, provide our services.
When you become a client. We send new clients a project form that asks for information about their business, brand, content, domain and email, along with files such as logos, brand guidelines, written content and photos. We use this only to plan, build and support your website.
We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
When you browse the website. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the website securely and protect it from misuse.
Analytics, with your consent. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are visited and how people found us. This helps us improve the site. We don't use analytics to identify you personally, and Google Analytics does not run unless you choose to accept it.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We only set analytics cookies if you click Accept on our cookie banner.

We also save your cookie choice in your browser's local storage, so we don't ask you again on every page. This isn't a cookie, and it's needed for the website to remember your decision.
Changing your mind. You can change your choice at any time using the link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and remove its cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We use a small number of trusted providers to run this website:
- Formspree receives and forwards enquiries sent through our contact form. Formspree may process data outside the UK. See Formspree's privacy policy.
- Tally stores the answers and files clients send us through our project onboarding form. See Tally's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website and protects it from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Google provides Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies) and the fonts used on this website, which are loaded from Google Fonts. See Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to respond to you and, if you become a client, to provide our services and meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct, delete or restrict it. You can also object to how we use it, ask for it to be transferred to you, and withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent.
To make a request, please contact us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
